WEG Study Commissioned by the Florida Chamber of Commerce Highlighted in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune

Tony Villamil, Principal Economic Advisor of The Washington Economics Group, was commissioned by The Florida Chamber of Commerce to analyze the potential for doubling exports in Florida during the next five years. Launched during World Trade Week 2010, the White Paper was presented by Villamil during a media conference on May 19th. The Paper urges Florida to push Congress to pass free-trade agreements with Panama, Colombia and South Korea and takes particular focus on Brazil, already the Sunshine State’s top trading partner, and on other countries that will come out most strongly from the recession. The White Paper also noted the importance of statewide economic development agencies and how by properly finding these organizations, more international investment would come to Florida.
