Clean Energy Legislation a Must for Economic Growth, new WEG Study Shows
A Study by The Washington Economics Group was the topic of a recent statewide news release. The Study, which focused on renewable energy policies currently in the state legislature, found that current legislation calling for 700 mega watts of increased capacity, if passed, could generate 40,000 new jobs over time and expand Florida's total economic activity by $8.1 billion. Tony Villamil, Principal Economic Advisor of WEG was quoted as saying that "solar power is a key source to potentially generate high-wage, high-skill jobs in Florida and should be considered as lawmakers debate this legislation."
