WEG Principal Economic Advisor interviewed by Daily Business Review on Remittances to Latin America

Tony Villamil was interviewed on remittances to Latin America and the Caribbean. In the article by Wayne Tompkins, remittances decreased 15 percent last year to $58.8 million, according to the IDB's Multilateral Investment Fund. Tony Villamil, Principal Economic Advisor to The Washington Economics Group and Dean of the School of Business at St. Thomas University said that the decline in remittances, "affects the emerging middle class" in Latin American countries, and "especially in Central America in terms of the size of their economies in relation to total GDP spending."
