The International Speedway Corporation (ISC) commissioned The Washington Economics Group (WEG) of Coral Gables to conduct an independent economic impact study of the statewide impact of major motorsports in Florida and the lading role played by ISC. The study found that the overall statewide impact is a significant $2.3 billion annually from ISC activities, including headquarter operations, the Daytona Speedway and the Homestead-Miami championship races.
From CNNMoney.com, CEO Villamil expanded on the study’s findings saying “by enhancing the brand name of Florida as the global leader in motorsports, ISC provides significant ancillary benefits to the State. Among them is the increased attraction of visitors and sports-oriented individuals to Florida.”
