Finding South Florida's Next Economic Wave

Tony Villamil, Chief Executive Officer of The Washington Economics Group of Coral Gables, was quoted in the Miami Herald on the economic growth obstacles and opportunities facing the South Florida economy. While many challenges face industry cluster development in Florida, Mr. Villamil believes that cluster development is in fact an integral component of economic development, job creation and prosperity throughout the State. According to him, Florida's ability to produce vibrant industry clusters is lacking. Florida needs "significant investment in the education process and we need to deepen our knowledge-based industries."
