Tony Villamil comments on Unemployment rate in Florida

August 23, 2006 - In July, Florida's unemployment rate rose to 3.3 percent from 3 percent in June. Tony Villamil issued a statement in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel: "The 3 percent (unemployment) that we had in June was probably the peak. That's full employment. What the 3.3 percent means is the market is stabilizing at a very low number. Its taking a pause." Mr. Villamil expects the state's unemployment rate to fluctuate between 3 and 3.5 percent, for the remainder of the year.
